Manufacturers are not obliged to apply for their 'legacy devices' under the MDR. Nonetheless, if their device is covered
by a certificate that expires after 20 March 2023 and before 26 May 2024, they benefit from the extension of the
transitional period until 26 May 2024, provided the conditions set out in Article 120(3c), points (a) to (c), are fulfilled.
If the manufacturer does not lodge an application for conformity assessment by 26 May 2024, the transition period
will end on 26 May 2024.
